1000 SDI RAVE Cable Adjustment
In tracking down various reports of inconsistent performance from the 1000 SDI equipped sleds, Ski-Doo has determined there are issues with the manner in which the E-RAVE motor and cables are being adjusted. Rather than the power valves opening mechanically on cylinder pressure, the E-RAVE system utilizes an electric motor to open and close the valves with greater precision.
If the E-RAVE cables are not adjusted correctly, the engine may experience rich running, poor performance, a flashing “check engine lightâ€, poor fuel economy and beeping sounds from the buzzer. We fought this on a Renegade 1000 for several hundred miles before our dealer tracked it down.
Ski-Doo dealers have recently been provided with more detailed instructions on properly adjusting the cables. This is in addition to previous instructions that were often misunderstood. If your 1000 SDI suffers from any of the above mentioned issues, consider the possibility of improperly adjusted cables on the E-RAVE system.
