….. Metal traction device (stud) stickers are no longer required in Minnesota, but the use of snowmobiles fitted with studs is still not allowed on a number of paved public trails. Metal “cleats” that are attached to a snowmobile track in a perpendicular manner to the direction of travel of a 1981 or earlier snowmobile are NOT considered “metal traction devices” in Minnesota, and thus are legal for use on paved public trails.
