1000 SDI Ring Gear Recall

Ski-Doo has determined the starter ring gear on electric start versions of 1000 SDI engines, including 2005 & 2006 Mach Z and 2006 MX Z Renegade 1000 models, should be replaced. Summit models are not part of the recall. Cracks may appear on the ring gear, creating a potentially dangerous situation.

Ski-Doo has mailed letters to all owners of record, but if you own a 1000 SDI fitted with electric start you need to have the unit serviced by an authorized Ski-Doo dealer to replace the starter ring gear. Do not use the vehicle until this situation has been corrected.
