2007 Polaris Dragon
It is kind of odd Polaris didn’t just call this a 700 H.O. CFI, but it is so radically wild in comparison to the 600 IQ models they evidently wanted a very distinct name and image. The 700 twin is NOT the (heavy) 755 of last year, this is an ALL-NEW engine based on the little 600, bored and stroked. We spent a full day riding this gem and can tell you this is the sled we have been waiting for, at least in terms of ride and handling. Walker Evans shocks with tuning needles all-around are super-trick, adding compression-adjustability on BOTH rear suspension shocks. The ride quality is very impressive, not a brick, yet still position sensitive for smooth stutters. We keep coming back to the engine. Power is broad and smooth, not peaky, and yes it’ll pull right about 140 HP. About our only complaint is all of the wasted space at the rear of the sled. Sure looks cool, but you can’t carry gear or a fuel tank like some other sleds can. 1.25†Rip Saw track is standard issue. This one truly is worthy of replacing your 700 VES EDGE. This baby is only available during the spring SnowCheck period.
