2017 Arctic Cat Accessory Attachment Systems

One of the features we’ve been asking for from Arctic Cat the past few seasons has been a quick-attach quick-detach system for cargo bags and accessories. You know, something like what Ski-Doo and Polaris have for their sleds.

Ask, and ye shall receive. Now for 2017 Arctic Cat is introducing two new attachment systems. First is the new Cam-Lock Attachment System, an innovative quarter-turn system that eliminates straps and hooks to mount accessories to the tunnel of the sled. We find various different tunnel bags that use this system for 2017.

The big news is found in the new SpeedRack II system. This new mounting system consists of a SpeedRack base kit, which provides a set of front and rear base mounts or “rails” to mount accessories to, along with a SpeedLock – the key to keeping items secured. The SpeedLock is kind of like a key in that it is a drop-in device that fits into the rear base kit mount and locks the accessory into place with the flip of a lever.

Installing an accessory item is super easy. Drop it into place on the base kit, insert the SpeedLock and flip the lever, and you’re locked and loaded. The SpeedLock is made of strong and durable aluminum componentry, with a nice-sized lever for fast installation and removal.

The SpeedRack base mount has three holes for the SpeedLock to mount into, so you not only can attach a bag or rack on top of the tunnel, but you can also mount things like saddlebag carriers onto the sides of the sled as well.

Right now there is a Gear Rack and a larger Cargo Rack that can be mounted on top of the tunnel, and a Saddlebag Carrier that can be mounted on the sides of the tunnel using the SpeedRack and SpeedLocks. Right now there is not an integrated fuel caddy that mounts directly to the SpeedRack, at least not yet, so we still have to mount a fuel caddy to one of the racks, but we suspect this could be coming soon. At least we sure hope so.

To top things off, Arctic Cat is also offering the clever Mountain Addiction Track Rack Mounting System with the rails, utility jugs and cargo bags as OEM Arctic Cat accessory items, available at Arctic Cat dealers. This system mounts a pair of rails onto a flat-top tunnel and allows you to easily slide a jug or bag on and off of the rails. This is yet another great cargo option being provided by Arctic Cat in response to customer requests for quick and easy cargo attachment systems.
