Yamaha learned the Mono-Shock RA rear suspension was sprung too light for the type of riding the RTX models were being subjected to, so they installed the torsion-spring rear suspension (from the Nytro) into the RTX and wow, what an improvement! For aggressive riding styles and conditions, we’re now more favorable to the range of adjustability and the ability to pre-load off of bumps and such, it is simply a better match for the rest of the sled and the riding style it is intended for. It also gets a low windshield and hand deflectors. Curiously, it also gets the black and yellow “look” of the 2006 Nytro. This is still the lightest Apex you can get, and the most capable one suspension wise. Nice improvement.
