New World Record – Distance on Water by Snowmobile!

Aki Pesonen of Finland set The NEW World Record for Distance On Water By Snowmobile at Ivalo, Finland. Aki travelled 155.8 miles (250.8 km) on September 10, 2017. Aki was riding a 2016 Ski-Doo Summit 800 E-TEC fitted with extra fuel cans on the tunnel. He completed the ride in four hours and ten minutes, tracking his distance with a GPS mounted on his helmet and a GPS mounted on his sled. Video of the entire ride shows both GPS units having measured 250.8 km, or 155.8 miles. At the end of the ride, his oil reservoir was dangerously low and there was quite a black patch of rubber from the drive belt left on the mid-section of the primary clutch.
