Fall 1978 includes a memorial to Polaris great Jerry Bunke, a touching tribute to one of the greatest oval racers ever, written by his wife Pam. Nov/Dec 1798 issue features an article on SnoCross in Sweden, which led to the creation of the first SnoCross event held at Alexandria. A trip to the Scorpion Squadron shop near Crosby, Minnesota details the preparation of the underdog team for their entry into oval racing. Also interviewed is Roger Skime, in charge of the Arctic Cat cross country race team for 1979. New race sleds for cross country and ovals are shown in full color. New models covered include Arctic Cat El Tigre 5000, Polaris Centurion, Ski-Doo Blizzard 5500, Yamaha Excel V. Plus, all about top independent racer Jay Sperry Jr. and his Kawasaki connection.

The Winter 1978-79 issue of Race & Rally features excellent coverage of the success of the Scorpion Squadron Sno Pro race team early in the race season with the domination of Brad Hulings pulling the “hat trick” of winning all three classes on his new Scorpion machines, winning the coveted Hetteen Cup, a $11,000 boat, motor and trailer and nearly $4,000 in cash. There’s also a story about riding with Al and Bobby Unser in New Mexico with the new Polaris Centurion three-cylinder 500, coverage on the Sno Pro opener at Grand Forks, North Dakota where Steve Throsen took home the big prize on his Scorpion, and Ski-Doo’s cross country race team of Gerard Karpik and Bobby Enns.

Normally we get $10 per magazine (Race & Rally era) with a single $10 shipping and handling fee per order.
