Do you have a 1000 SDI that, when you cold start it, runs for a few seconds and quits? Ski-Doo has made available a revised ECU program to improve cold starting on vehicles that act in this manner. If your 2005 or 2006 SDI 1000 experiences this, your dealer can install a new ECU calibration to help. This new software only improves cold engine starting, there is no change to engine performance.
Also, some 2006 versions of the 1000 SDI may experience a coolant leak when cold started and subjected to high RPM before the engine is completely warmed up. This affects only a small number of these models, and the coolant leak only occurs when the engine is very cold and is run at high RPM before reaching full operating temperature. When the engine reaches normal operating temperature, the leak ceases.
Machines that experience this problem are to have a new heat exchanger cover and gasket installed.
