Can you imagine a mountain sled without a deep lug track? Of course not, that would just not be right. But what about a center grab bar? You know, the hoop bar that comes up out of the handlebars so you have something to hang on to when you’re standing while riding.
In our opinion, no mountain sled should be delivered without a deep lug track, or a center grab bar. But what about a crossover sled? If it is truly a crossover sled, wouldn’t it have a center grab bar? Why, then why does the wildly popular Polaris Switchback Assault come from the factory with NO center grab bar? It is one of the world’s greatest mysteries!
All kidding aside, one of the very first things we notice missing on an otherwise excellent sled is the center grab bar. So we add one. The Polaris OEM accessory part fits perfectly and is a perfect match. It’s part #2882118 that sells for $60. It looks like it was designed to be there, as it should be. Every single Switchback Assault that is ever used off trail should have one of these installed. Truth be known, we actually use it while sitting down at times, usually riding down a forest road with semi-deep snow and having the need to lean out and away from the sled. But there are times you will find yourself using the center grab bar once you get used to it. So much so that when you hop on a sled without one, you miss it.
