Upon winning the 2006 Eagle River World Championship, P.J. Wanderscheid joined Dave Wahl and Jacques Villeneuve as the only three-time winners of the world’s greatest oval race.
Wanderscheid nabbed his third win with a stunning late charge in the race that allowed him to pass into the lead during the next to the last lap. Wanderscheid, who works at his family’s Arctic Cat dealership (Country Cat in Sauk Centre, MN) is widely regarded as the fastest modern day oval racer and appears capable of becoming the first four-time champion.
