Micro Start XP-1
With more and more snowmobiles having electric start, and many now do not have a recoil starter rope as a back-up method of starting, what do you do if your battery should fail you while out in the woods?
Some of us have resorted to carrying a light set of jumper cables, when we simply can not afford to have a sled battery go dead on us. But there is another very attractive option that combines the function of a jump start with the function of emergency back-up battery power for things like our GPS, cell phone, or battery.
These are very small lithium battery packs that can both jump start a car, truck, snowmobile, ATV, motorcycle, but also have several outputs to power laptops, cell phones, GPS, pretty much any and all of your power requirements while out in the field.
Now, before you scoff or laugh at this, you have to realize these little power packs are quite capable, actually quite amazing. The first one that really took hold and got some wings was the Micro Start by Antigravity batteries. This has pretty much become the standard and the most popular of these personal power packs with jump start capability, and now there are several other similar devices as well.
The Micro Start XP-1 is the most widely recognized multi-function power supply and jump starter. It weighs less than a pound but can deliver 200 amps of starting current, enough to start a 6.0L V8 several times! Both wall and mobile chargers are included, along with other cables and connector tips for powering your devices all in a compact, durable carrying case. It typically sells for under $100, available from most powersports dealers or many online retailers.
